Me, the person
Hi, I’m Personatalie, as my friends call me. So, I got a hotmail account and registered this domain and, well, rather than continue to let it sit there, I thought I should put something together. I still have the email too but I never check it so don’t bother.
I’m a Christian first, then a wife, a mom to three little girls, two of which were born together, and at the end of the day when they all go to bed, I get to design web sites that are classy, elegant, and a little bit of fun.
I like to drink an occasional glass of wine, and sometimes while I Twitter too. I try hard not to use jargon, but sometimes I slip up, so smack me if I do. And if you ask me about pro-life or pro-choice I’ll say I’m Pro-Woman.
My Design Style
My forté is blogs and I dabble in the professional, but I don’t do mega, nor eCommerce except when coaxed into helping colleagues. I have friends who love to take on the bigger jobs and, being full time most of them, they have much more time to devote to something of that scale.
I specialize in clean, accessible design, though I’ve been known to go dirty grunge a time or two. I don’t do messy or chaotic, so moving graphics and wild color schemes won’t find they’re way into my work. Flash is something I believe should be used as an accessory, not an outfit, so I’ll limit any use of Flash to a slide show or banner here or there, and only when imperative to the success of your site. Likewise, things like sIFR should be used in moderation, but there are times when they can make a great impact.
My Process
This part is relatively simple, as it should be. I listen to your needs, make my recommendations, then set to work. I prefer problems to solutions, so please allow me to do what you’re hiring me to do.
I value your time as well as my own, so I don’t spend a lot of time “tweaking” things once a project has finished. I prefer to get it right the first time, so we’ll spend a lot more time in the beginning clarifying your needs and less time fixing and changing things later. When we’re done, we’re done, no more fussing and we all go back to work having saved oodles of time and moolah.

Services
Web Design
Because I have less time to do design work these days with my twins, I’ve chosen to focus my business on blog design and small personal or business sites. I love this kind of work because it also allows me to have more of a relationship with my clients as I take on fewer and smaller jobs.
If you like my work, then contact me to see about what your particular job might cost. Unfortunately I can’t publish any prices here because like a house, each web site is unique and there’s no way to know exactly what it will cost until I know what needs to be “built”.
In general, with any designer, you should expect to pay at least four figures for a quality design. If you can’t afford custom work, or you just want something fast and cheap, you may want to look elsewhere for some decent pre-built templates (and of course, at a consulting rate, I can help you install one).
Consulting
As I’ve developed my reputation in the field I’ve had a number of people call on me for assistance in their own design business. If you’re a learning designer, or even a non-designer who would just like more control over your own web site, please contact me about my hourly rate. I’m always happy to take phone calls, email, or chat, and I can be reached almost any hour of the day. I can answer a simple question or walk with you step-by-step through any process you may have trouble with.
If anything gets beyond me whether in web design or consulting, I have a large network of friends who are talented in various areas who I can refer you to or partner with to help you complete any project.
